Likely does not mean valuable
A short-priced favourite may be more likely to win, yet the available price can still be too low relative to the real uncertainty.
Context can narrow the gap
Match context, surface strength and fast-changing player level can make an apparently simple favourite more vulnerable than rankings suggest. These factors do not automatically make the opponent an Official Pick.
What a Don’t Bet flag means
CourtValue’s Don’t Bet section warns against backing a market favourite in a qualifying context. It is not a pick on the opponent, does not enter tracking and can never duplicate the same player shown as an Official Pick.
- Warning ≠ opposing-player pick.
- No stake or P/L is assigned.
- The section is evaluated separately from Official Picks.
Practical discipline
Avoid forcing action simply because a well-known player is short-priced. If the price does not compensate for uncertainty, passing is a valid decision. Gambling should remain discretionary entertainment, not an income plan.
