1. Performance baseline
CourtValue evaluates player strength using surface-relevant performance data. Hard, clay and grass matches are assessed separately because playing level and matchup dynamics can differ materially between surfaces.
The precise rating transformation, adjustments, weightings and probability calculations are proprietary and are not published.
2. Official Pick qualification
An Official Pick is produced only when the complete internal assessment passes CourtValue’s data-quality, matchup, context and market-price requirements. No single statistic or price difference creates a pick automatically.
Exact eligibility conditions, thresholds, combinations and decision rules remain confidential. Market movement or corrected information can cause a selection to be removed before the match begins.
3. Units and settlement
- Published selections display their recorded market odds and assigned units.
- Win: profit = (recorded odds × units) − units.
- Loss: profit = −units.
- If the opponent retires after play begins, the selected player is settled as a win; if the selected player retires, the selection is void and excluded.
- Walkovers and matches without a valid final score are excluded.
Settlement rules remain public so the performance record can be independently checked without revealing how a selection is generated.
4. “Don’t Bet On These Players”
This is a separate warning system for market favourites. It is not a pick on the opponent, never enters Official Pick profit tracking and can never label the same player as an Official Pick in the same match. Its precise qualification rules are proprietary.
5. Double Up Challenge
The Double Up Challenge is a separate sequence of two selections whose combined price is designed around the daily challenge objective. Match 1 must be settled as a win before Match 2 is released. The selection process remains confidential and its results never alter the Official Picks record.
6. Data integrity and corrections
CourtValue checks player identity, surface, schedule, match status and the market information used at publication. Data may be refreshed or corrected when a source changes. Known non-picks and invalid settlements are prevented from entering the public Official Pick record.
Accountability without replication
Protecting the model does not mean hiding performance. Every valid Official Pick is recorded with its published odds, units and settlement in the tracking archive. Historical performance is not a guarantee of future results.
